Storyline

For the past decade, the renowned graffiti artist Vladimir Ovchinnikov lives in Borovsk, a town that seems to have bewitched him. A truly strange place, the town of Borovsk preserves the memory of those unjustly persecuted and murdered. It was to a monastery in Borovsk that the rebel archpriest Avvakum was imprisoned the XIV century; here, the wealthy boyarina Morozova was thrown into a pit to die of hunger; here numerous victims of political repression were shot. And here, Ovchinnikov began to paint murals across town despite the indignation of the authorities. After all, the graffiti artist is not a teenager — he is in his 80s. A real scandal engulfed Borovsk in 2015 when Vladimir Ovchinnikov unveiled his first “memorial to the town's victims of political repression…”
