Today Marina Kleshcheva is an actress and theater director. She has starred in films by Cannes laureates Kirill Serebrennikov and Sergei Loznitsa. Yet just a few years ago, she worked at a market stall, had two prison terms behind her, and lived in a very troubled environment. A camera followed Marina over four years as she tried to change her life. Her new life is hard, and the old one keeps pulling her back. Often, there's no money even for cigarettes.
