The Kid

The film "The Kid" became Charlie Chaplin's first full-length directorial work. The actor for the lead role of the Kid, five-year-old Jackie Coogan, was found by Chaplin on stage where the child performed equally with adults. Jackie turned out to be a born actor and picked up everything quickly.

"The Kid" is a story about a child abandoned by his mother soon after birth. After a series of adventures, the foundling is discovered by a slum-dweller, poor Charlie, who teaches the child what he knows himself.
