After the tragic death of their mutual friend Max, four residents of large metropolises receive mysterious delayed messages from him. As they work to unravel the mystery behind Max's death, these messages become a way for Max to "talk" to his friends, guiding each of them through their own existential crises. The narrative unfolds in two directions simultaneously: the quest to understand Max's death and the personal journeys of the characters as they find meaning and resolution in their lives.
