Ukon. The Way of the Samurai

Yukon Takayama was a great samurai living in the 16th century who converted to Christianity. After persecutions fell upon Japanese Christians, he was denied death by sword and exiled to the Philippines. A young man narrates his inner journey between the sword and the cross. Alongside modern reflections, medieval Japan comes alive through images of tea ceremonies, kendo, calligraphy, landscapes, and Christian sites. The film is dedicated to anyone interested in learning more about East-West relations, mysterious Japan, and those drawn to beauty.
