Village of Women

Only women, children and old people live in this Armenian village called Lichk, while the men work in Russia for nine months of the year. The documentary takes viewers into the beautiful countryside and through the village to observe the women working, caring for children and talking about what it is like to live like this, Director Tamara Stepanyan has achieved a warm-hearted, stylistically assured portrait of a female community of fate who bear their difficult circumstances with lots of humour, warmth and a generous measure of lived feminism.
