Storyline
Blanche DuBois arrives in New Orleans to stay with her pregnant sister Stella, living with her husband Stanley in local slums. Blanche informs her sister that she's bankrupt, lost her job, and has nowhere else to go or live. Stanley, embodying rawness and brutality, immediately dislikes her due to her drinking habits and inappropriate flirtations. Soon, Blanche attracts an admirer and harbors faint hopes of marriage, but Stanley sabotages their engagement.
